A flooring installation estimate rarely goes wrong on the material line. It goes wrong under it: self-leveling compound, the toilet that has to come off and go back on, the tack strips. This template carries a line for each of those, plus a note to order material with a waste allowance, so they're priced before the job starts.

What does a flooring job estimate include?
Eight sections that follow the job in order: permits and fees, demolition and removal, subfloor prep and leveling, underlayment and moisture barrier, flooring material and installation, trim and transitions, cleanup and disposal, and contingency and allowances. Inside them are the lines that take time and drop off quotes: detaching and resetting the toilet, the moisture test, pulling tack strips and staples. You delete what doesn't apply.
How do I price a flooring job?
Line by line, and the math is the same everywhere: rate times quantity, with a multiplier when you need one. Material and install labor go by the square foot, baseboard and shoe molding by the linear foot, transitions and thresholds each, mobilization and layout flat. What moves your number is usually under the finish floor: subfloor repair, leveling, and moisture work. Price those as their own lines so the subfloor's condition is in the price.
Can I include a contingency allowance or a deposit?
Both. The template ships with a contingency allowance line under contingency and allowances, plus a subfloor inspection and moisture test up front. At the document level you can add an overhead and profit fee as a percentage of the subtotal, a discount, and an informational deposit line.
